Although the Kingpin poses a threat, Fisk is unrelated to Daredevil’s most dangerous villain

Daredevil has his share of adversaries, much like any other superhero. One of the most unsettling supervillains Matt Murdock has encountered is probably Muse. Astute watchers caught a glimpse of Muse in the first full-length trailer for the new Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, suggesting that the Man Without Fear will face up against one of his modern-day comic-book foes in a fierce battle in the MCU.

Over the years, Daredevil has faced several opponents, some of whom have proven more challenging to overcome than others. The most well-known (or notorious) of Murdock’s rouges is Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin himself. However, Muse has shown himself to be a far more menacing and dangerous foe than Fisk, who frequently uses his wealth, power, and muscle—both his own and hired—to battle Daredevil.

Although the Kingpin poses a threat, Fisk is unrelated to Daredevil's most dangerous villain

What is the identity of Muse, and how does he cause Daredevil trouble?

Charles Soule, Ron Garney, Matt Milla, and Clayton Cowles introduce Muse in Daredevil #11, where he first appears in a rooftop battle with Daredevil wearing a blood-stained clothing and a mask that looks like gouged-out eye sockets. The invitation was sent personally to Blindspot, Daredevil’s apprentice, before the fight. Blindspot arrives at his location to see a situation worse than he could have ever dreamed. An whole warehouse wall is covered in a mural, but instead of paint, human blood is used to create the artwork.

The media refers to the unidentified painter as “Vincent Van Gore” because of the graphic content of his paintings. Matt Murdock, who works as a district attorney during the day and as Daredevil at night, tries to find out who the artist is. In the Bronx, another art installation—a hideous display of dead Inhumans employed as props—occurs during the manhunt. In the last showdown on the rooftop, when “Vincent Van Gore” reveals his chosen identity, Muse, Daredevil’s hunt for the serial murderer becomes more intense. Muse views his acts as a genuine manifestation of creative inspiration and shows no regret for them.

At last, Muse acknowledges to Blindspot that he has understood since his first murder how awful his deeds are. But any moral quandaries are outweighed by Muse’s urge to produce his perverted art. Muse eventually became completely emotionless about his crimes. Muse’s impulsive behavior and sociopathic worldview prompted him to physically blind Blindspot, claiming that his acts were just another example of his provocative artwork.

Muse’s Capabilities Make him one of Daredevil’s most formidable foes

A childhood mishap caused radioactive isotopes to leak into Matt Murdock’s eyes, blinding him. Murdock soon discovered that his other senses were amplified to a degree that was beyond the normal human capacity due to the nature of the chemicals. Matt is able to “see” the world around him by using his keenly developed senses of touch, smell, and hearing. Daredevil often uses a kind of radar that enables him to locate everything in his immediate vicinity, including people, buildings, and everything in between. But when Daredevil battles Muse, his renowned radar is rendered ineffective.

Daredevil cannot locate Muse since his body may transform into a kind of vortex that draws in anything nearby. Daredevil accepts that Muse is nothing more than a void to his augmented senses for the rest of the Dark Art arc, which leads to a disappointing climax when he and the Inhuman officer helping him attempt to find Muse in order to save Blindspot.

Muse has extraordinary agility and speed in addition to his special ability to utilize his body as a vortex. His quickness enables him to surprise his victims, frequently hurling a knife before anybody can even notice. Muse also understands how to skillfully create distractions, however this is not always an aptitude. For people who anticipate pyrotechnics or dazzling lights in response to an attack, he frequently utilizes what looks to be a grenade. Muse is even more dangerous than the notorious Kingpin since he can elude Daredevil and the cops by doing this.
